The Assembly
The fascist forces of an American Third Reich want to destroy the nation. Their attempted soft coup in process has ripped the mask off. We now see clearly that our economic, social, and political systems have failed us and enabled their rise to power. It’s not too late, but we must act fast!
More then ever, people across the country are coming to understand that law and order will not stop them. It’s up to us. Against the fascist forces that seek to destroy what’s left of our republic, the only way to save ourselves is by expanding democracy throughout the nation in an American Revolution of our own.
We need to form democratic assemblies in every neighborhood and workplace. We must organize to defend one another from the fascist threat that seeks to divide, conquer, enslave, then exterminate us.
From these democratic assemblies, we must then coordinate a truly mass resistance. We must bring this wannabe fascist dictatorship to its knees.
The only way to do that is to bring the economy to a grinding halt, shutting down the corporations that seek to crush us under their boots. The only way to do that is to bring middle classes together with the multi-racial, rainbow working class.
For this American Revolution against fascism to be successful, we must also recognize that we stand on stolen land. Many of our ancestors violently colonized America and sent its original inhabitants to live in concentration camps that remain to this day. The forces of fascism seek now to colonize us too, and send most of us to the new camps they’re building.
By uniting for an American Revolution beyond the settler colony, we can all create the democracy that should have been built here from the start. We stole democracy from the indigenous and ruined it with a white male supremacist republic. Republics have been falling into dictatorship since the days of Jesus Christ. Surprise surprise, it’s happening again!
Instead, we now have the chance to make an American Revolution that establishes democracy for everyone, while righting the wrongs of the past at the same time. We can these darkest of times into a future of prosperity for all of us. But only if we look past our divisions, and lead with our empathetic hearts.
Our inspiration:
The Revolutionary People’s
Constitutional Convention
Back in the summer of 1969, the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense held it’s first and only United Front Against Fascism conference. They followed it up in September 1970 with what they called the Revolutionary People’s Constitutional Convention.
The convention was a space for they and their allies to draft an alternative to the US constitution. After all, the Panthers were an organization dedicated to the revolutionary overthrow of capitalism, the US government, the global imperialist system, etc.
Drafting the constitution was their approach to bring people together from across the country and build a massive organization, a revolutionary party. It was meant to make it clear what everyone was fighting for, together.
We need another constitutional convention, this one for a fighting, revolutionary American Commune.
Check out original constitution the Panther’s drafted with their allies. It’s below.
It’s one of the reasons why we need community and worker assemblies everywhere! They are the place to discuss drafting a new revolutionary constitution, from the frontlines of struggle.
All Power to the Assemblies!
